In late March, PowerBar founder Brian Maxwell passed away after suffering a fatal heart attack. Mr. Maxwell and his wife Jennifer founded the company in 1986 by selling PowerBars out of their kitchen. Almost a decade and half later the couple sold the company to Nestle SA for $375 million. Mr. Maxwell is survived by his wife and five children.
